Canada, Australia and New Zealand Photo Guides
Passport, visa, PR card and citizenship photos for Canada, Australia and New Zealand, including the rules a home photo cannot meet.
Canada, Australia and New Zealand each set their own photo rules, and they differ more than most. A Canadian passport photo is 50 x 70 mm and must be taken by a commercial photographer who stamps the back, while Canadian visa applications use 35 x 45 mm. Australia prints passport photos at 35 to 40 mm wide by 45 to 50 mm high, and New Zealand's passport application is fully digital, with a photo file in a 3:4 ratio.
The guides below go through passports, visas, PR cards and citizenship photos in each country, and flag the cases a photo taken at home cannot meet so you know before you pay for anything.
Each document has its own page with the spec and a free check: Canadian passport, Canada visa, Canada PR card, Canadian citizenship, Australian passport, Australia visa and New Zealand passport. Where the rules require a studio or a special print, the page says so and sells nothing.
