Home Affairs recommends a professional provider over photo apps, so what we offer is a free check of framing, tilt, background and lighting, not a finished file.

Free check only. Home Affairs' own photo page says it does not recommend online passport photo services or mobile apps, and recommends a professional provider such as Australia Post. Many applicants also have the facial image captured at a biometrics appointment or in the Australian Immi App. What we offer is a free pre-submission check of framing, tilt, background and lighting.
Not fully verified. Published: JPEG of 70 KB to 3.5 MB, under 6 months old, 1200 x 1600 px preferred. Not published: a pixel box or a head-size figure, so those bounds are ours. Whether your form asks for the upload at all is decided by the document list in your own ImmiAccount application.
About background editing. The Home Affairs photo page lists a background removed by editing among unacceptable photos. Background replacement is off by default; leave it off.
