The Indian e-Visa portal asks for a square JPEG between 10 KB and 1 MB. The regular (non-e-Visa) application caps the file at 300 KB, and the mission you're applying to may publish its own dimensions. Check the file here and compare with your mission's checklist before you upload.

Not fully verified. The head-size window, glasses rule and file limits come from the published e-Visa page and regular-visa instructions; we hold the stricter 300 KB byte cap so one file fits either form.
